Postgraduate Diploma in Buddhist Studies

The purpose of the course is twofold. First, it serves as a pathway for students who already hold a first degree in any academic subject from a recognized university or higher education institution to enter the field of Buddhist studies, paving the way for higher research degrees such as M.Phil. and PhD in Buddhist studies. Second, the course provides a reliable and scientific introduction to Buddhism as a comprehensive system, catering to academics and professionals from diverse fields of study who seek to acquire a solid foundational knowledge of Buddhism.

The course fee is presently Rs. 35,000 and the Registration fee is Rs. 5,000 for local Students and Course fee is USD 250 and the Registration fee is USD 100 for Foreign Students (Course Fees can be paid in two instalments). This all-inclusive fee is charged to cover lectures, tutorials, and examinations, as well as access to computer laboratory facilities and the library.

The fees should be credited to, Account No 0207 1000 0760 of the Sampath Bank in favour of Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies, at the Sampath Bank Makola Branch or any branch of Sampath Bank. Normally, fees paid will not be refunded. However, requests for refund of fees may be considered if made before the expiry of one week from the date of commencement of lectures for each semester.
